Arrival to the University of Arkansas
Welcome to the University of Arkansas and the Office of International Students and Scholars! We're pleased you have chosen to further your education at our university. As a new International student you will be joining other University of Arkansas International students who represent numerous countries from around the world. Our purpose is to help you achieve the goals that led you to choose to study at our University and to help you make the most of your time in the U.S. This information is designed to answer questions you may currently have concerning your arrival to the university and life here. The information below is organized into what you may need to do upon admission (READY),  arrangements to make before you get here (SET), and things to do upon your arrival (GO). We hope it is of assistance and look forward to meeting you!

READY SET GO

THINGS TO DO ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN ADMITTED:

Inform the University of your acceptance of admission:

  • In your admissions packet you should have received a yellow response form. Fill it out and return it by post, e-mail, or fax. It can also be submitted online (please use Internet Explorer to access this form).

Make arrangements to get a visa:

  • Check the expiration dates on your passport to make sure they are up-to-date.
  • Carefully read your documents to make sure all information is correct.
Each country has a different procedure to obtain a visa. Click here for resources about how to apply.

Plan your arrival:

  • You should plan on entering the United States no more than 30 days before the start of classes. Check the orientation dates and semester calender to determine your arrival date.
  • We recommend giving yourself enough time to accomplish the following: adjust to the time change, attend intake, settle living arrangements, and attend New International Student Orientation.
